With up to four departures in summer, we operate whale watching tours out of Torfunef pier in the center of Akureyri city!
Stop by our ticket office next to Hof Culture Centre at the harbour to exchange your voucher for an admission slip and walk down on to the pier where you will meet our crew and step on board our newly renovated whale watching vessel!
On board you will find all the basic facilities you might expect; such as lavatories, an onboard bar with light refreshments, warm overalls and blankets to keep you warm and all necessary safety equipment. The well trained and knowledgeable crew is prepared to assist you in any way and answer whichever inquiries you may have.
The tour will take you into the longest glacial fjord in all of Iceland, the Eyjafjord, home of the now world famous Humpback whales. With our fast boat we can reach areas deep in the fjord leaving no area unexplored, giving you the best chance of whale sightings!
In summer 2015 there was 99% sighting success of Humpback whales, however the cetacean abundance is unpredictable and varies with the food availability of our shores. In case no whales or dolphins are seen on the tour, we will offer you to come again for free within 2 years!
