Teotihuacán was named City of Gods by the Aztecs, even though it was built and inhabited before their time, for about 1000 years from 200 B.C. The archaeological site of Teotihuacán impresses the visitor with its size and the structure based on astronomical principles. The largest pyramid is the pyramid of the sun with its height of 65 meters. The pyramid of the sun was also the central energy point and center of the ceremonies.
The former city of Teotihuacán was at some point in time inhabited by 80 000 people. It is however still a secret, why the city was abandoned abruptly by its inahbitants. The discovery of a tunnel under one of the pyramids (pyramid of Quetzalcoatl) seems to give historians further insight and to bring them an important step closer to solving the mystery.
After the hot air balloon flight over Teotihuacan in the morning you will have the opportunity to explore the archeological site on the ground and appreciate the beauty and impressive constructions.
