Welcome onboard this 30 minute helicopter scenic tour of Stirling, The Hillfoots, Sherrifmuir and Dunblane. This helicopter sight seeing trip is an amazing and different way to experience Scotland from above, onboard a luxury helicopter.
Departing from Cumbernauld Airport, the tour flies northeast across central Stirling and the Castle esplanade towards the Wallace Monument and Stirling University campus. From here you’ll fly along the hillfoots passing Dumyat hill and the town of Menstrie below. Experience views across the River Forth towards Stirling and on a clear day views stretch to the Forth Bridges.
Turning to the north you’ll witness the dramatic change from lowland farmland to highland mountains as the flight continues over Sherrifmuir. Keep an eye out for the famous coaching inn and standing stones that mark the site of the Jacobite Battle Of Sherrifmuir (1715). The tour comes to Dunblane, Scotland’s smallest city and home to the famous Hydro hotel standing over the town as the flight turn to the south.
As we follow the M9 motorway back towards Cumbernauld Airport you’ll get impressive views of bridge of Allan and the dramatic north cliff of Stirling Castle, standing dominant over the Carse Of Stirling.
