Passing through Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park arriving in Kilmartin Glen, where you can walk in the footsteps of the first Scots at the Dunadd Hill Fort and the Temple Wood Stone Circle.
Today you will travel through the haunting Glencoe where the massacre of the MacDonald Clan took place, and drive past the base of the highest peak in the UK, Ben Nevis. Stopping in Fort William and jump aboard the Jacobite Steam Train and travel over the Glenfinnan Viaduct. Travelling on to the charming Isle of Skye, where you will spend the night.
Enjoy a full day exploring the Isle of Skye’s stunning scenery and hidden gems. There will be an array of photo opportunities throughout this day from the Cuillin Mountains to the astonishing Trotternish Peninsula.
Leaving the Isle of Skye, you’ll visit the picturesque Eilean Donan Castle and drive through the Torridon Mountains. Arriving at Drumnadrochit, on the shores of Loch Ness, where you’ll spend your forth night.
Today, you’ll travel north where you will take in the spectacular scenery of the Moray and Cromarty Firth, before hopping aboard a ferry to the magical and mysterious Orkney Isles. Upon arrival, you’ll marvel the stunning scenery, before visiting the Italian Chapel and the famous Churchill Barriers. Resting for the night in Kirkwall.
Spend the full day taking in the historic, cultural and scenic sites of the Orkney Isles. Many of the sites are of historical significance, with the Neolithic Skara Brae, the prehistoric Maeshowe Chambered Cairn and the brooding Stone Circles of Stenness. Rounding the day off with a visit to the beautiful St Magnus Cathedral.
Begin the final day of this packed tour, with an early ferry back to the mainland. Travelling south, you will take in the sites of the capital of the highlands, Inverness. On your homeward journey you will have the chance to visit the battlefield of Culloden and pass through the striking Cairngorms mountain range, before stopping off to explore the pretty village of Pitlochry.
