Departing Inverness this tour takes you northwest towards Ullapool to board the ferry to Stornoway. On this journey you’ll stop for a scenic woodland walk to Rogie Falls, following on you’ll visit the stunning Corrieshalloch Gorge, both, are truly breathtaking sights.
Today you’ll learn about the largest settlement on the western Isles, Stornoway. With a chance to explore the town before visiting the windiest place in the UK, the Butt of Lewis Lighthouse.
Travelling on to one of the preserved Iron Age structures located above Loch an Duin, you'll visit the ancient Callanish Standing Stones. You’ll have the chance to wander along some of the islands peaceful, beautiful beaches, before discovering more about the famous Harris Tweed cloth from a traditional weaver.
Today you’ll be exploring Harris, this is the southern section of the Outer Hebrides, the first stop of the day is the small town of Tarbert. Travelling west from here you can see views across to Taransay, where the BBC’s 'Castaway' programme was filmed. The Luskentyre beach is arguably the most stunning beach on the Isle of Harris, you’ll have the chance to stroll along it and take in its breathtaking scenery.
As the day comes to a close, it's time to retrace your footsteps and head north to Stornoway, to board the Ferry back to the main land, arriving back into Inverness.
