Iconic, historic and a fantastic place to visit, San Francisco is a must-visit destination on the Northern Pacific coast of the United States.
Situated around a series of sea lakes that are connected to the pacific ocean though a narrow inlet that the Golden Gate Bridge spans, the city was incorporated in April 1850 as part of the population of the western United States. It soon became a bustling metropolitan centre and one of the major cities of the west coast.
The city offers visitors many world-famous sights including the San Francisco Cable Car, Alcatraz Island and the Golden Gate Bridge as well as a plethora of other famous landmarks, cultural sights and famous businesses such as Gap Clothing and Apple Computer, established in Cupertino (Bay Area) in 1976.
Take a tour of the bridge, explore the infamous Alcatraz Island and soak up the atmosphere in one of the cool bars and restaurants in Mission Neighbourhood.
